7 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started Using QuickBooks Online-1

  1. QuickBooks is not self-explanatory.
You think you’ve got it, but you end up with a mess. Intuit promotes ease of use so you feel ignorant when you can’t figure out ANYTHING.  It is NOT you; it’s complicated software to use.
  2. Mistakes are easy to make and hard to fix.
One wrong click and you’re in accounting limbo. Undoing errors feels like untangling a ball of yarn.
  3. Using YouTube videos to learn takes more time than it’s worth.
Sure, there are tutorials, but it’s like searching for a needle in a haystack. Time is money, folks!
  4. There is no one to help when you don’t know what to do. I often say I would give my eye teeth to have someone who could answer a question when I started.
      1. Customer Support doesn’t really exist - They often provide bad information and require long phone calls.
      2. Can’t get help from most accountants because they have different skills.
  1. You need a comprehensive process to avoid errors.
Even when something looks right in QBO, there is often an underlying discrepancy.
  2. Products and Services are important and tricky.
If not done correctly, it can make your financial information very wrong.
  3. QuickBooks offers suggestions that are usually wrong.
Never trust them blindly. It’s like taking advice from a fortune cookie.
