Client Spotlight Interview: Beat The Streets - Cleveland
2:01
Beat The Streets ClevelandWe had the opportunity to sit down with Demetrius Williams, Executive Director of Beat The Streets Cleveland. BTS is a local chapter of a national organization dedicated to youth development, mentoring, and teaching kids the sport of wrestling. Beat The Streets aims to create quality young men and women for the future.

Tell Me More About Your Business.

It's all about the kids. Beat The Streets focuses on mentoring and teaching wrestling to create quality young men and women. The organization is driven by the desire to provide opportunities and increase possibilities for inner-city kids, helping them realize their dreams and potential. Many children face barriers and challenges, but Beat The Streets is committed to changing that narrative and providing a path to success.

The family environment and mentorship-first approach are at the heart of Beat The Streets. Decisions are made to position kids to win in life, not just in wrestling matches. Parents and families value the advocacy and support provided to help kids reach their full potential.

What is your biggest challenge?

Our primary challenge is securing diverse funding sources to support our initiatives. Financial constraints are a significant hurdle. On the program side, maintaining consistency is crucial. We strive to be present for our kids, offering them new opportunities and challenges. Our goal is to continuously innovate and find the necessary funding to bring these ideas to life.

What Lead you to BudgetEase?

Multiple people on our board encouraged me to work with BudgetEase to make sure that our financial information remained accurate and up to date.

Why Do You Find Having Someone Else Do Your Bookkeeping Helpful?

Having someone else handle the bookkeeping alleviates a significant source of stress for me. It ensures accountability and establishes checks and balances. Additionally, it provides timely reminders to submit necessary documents, making my job a little bit easier.
