Client Spotlight Interview: Dise & Company

Jun 23, 2021 1:01:10 PM Kathy Dise Small Business, Bookkeeping

dise and companyPlease meet Ralph Dise, owner of Dise & Company, Kathy’s husband and a loyal customer for over 7 years. Dise & Company is an executive recruiting, outplacement, executive coaching and leadership development firm. Dise & Company matches experienced and talented individuals with a wide variety of organizations. With 30 years of experience, Dise & Company guides “you in creating a culture of diversity and inclusion in which all individuals thrive.”

Tell me more about your business:  Dise & Company started from having a deep interest in people and what motivates them in their behavior and function within an organization.

During our recruitment process, we begin with getting the employer to articulate what their needs are. Then we match the needs with a person who can accomplish what the client wants them to accomplish. We are experienced in identifying a person’s strength by “peeling back the onion,” layer by layer, to get to know their true strengths and help them blossom as a leader.

Coaching often involves working with communication breakdowns within a company based on people with different personality types. For example, a pragmatic person will approach things in a different way than a sensitive person would. Sometimes, this creates conflict, so we teach them how to relate to one another in a more productive way to accomplish goals.

What is your biggest challenge: My biggest challenge is the long term sustainability of the business. Our staff is made up of people with many years of recruiting, outplacement, and coaching experience. Most of my employees are over 64 years old, who have the finesse, maturity, and insight it takes to recruit and coach.

What lead you to call BudgetEase: Kathy has been my Chief Financial Officer since we were married many years ago!

What do you find helpful by having someone else do your bookkeeping: It is good to have BudgetEase with financial acumen doing my bookkeeping. That way, I can focus on what I am good at and don’t have to worry about my bookkeeping. You pay people to clean your office--why not pay someone to do your bookkeeping? Years ago, I was told do not launder your own shirts because your time is worth more than the $5 per shirt fee you pay. The same goes for my bookkeeping. It is more efficient and worth the time and money saved to hire skilled bookkeepers.
