This month, our client spotlight mixes a recording studio with a passion for Reggae music. Please meet FE True Records, a small independent music label, focused on the cultivation of Reggae music, owned by Michael Bell, MD (aka Dr. Bassie).
Founded in 2015 in Shaker Heights, this recording studio carries the message, "Medicine and music both are a balm for the soul." The most notable releases include "Straight to Hell," featuring legendary roots man Horace Andy, and more recently “Black Madonna & Pickney,” re-mixed by Jamaican dub master "The Scientist". Additionally, the studio produces vinyl records in small batches.
When asked about his passion for music, Dr. Bassie stated, “Making art is a labor of love and the rewards lay in the meaningful insights that the art itself manifests.”
What is your biggest bookkeeping challenge?
Not having enough time to take care of it on my own. BudgetEase has helped Dr. Bell track with how much he spends on producing each of the albums while keeping it separate from his private medical practice.
