One of those organizations is Therapeds, a team dedicated to helping preschool-aged children thrive through specialized therapy services. Founded by Fay, a speech therapist by trade, and her husband Sammy, TheraPeds was born out of a passion for early intervention and a belief that every child deserves the tools to succeed. A Mission Rooted in Hope
TheraPeds focuses on three primary service lines: speech therapy, occupational therapy (OT), and behavioral health therapy. These services are designed to support children during their most formative years—preschool—when their brains are most receptive to development. While speech and OT remain the largest service areas, behavioral health therapy is rapidly growing, reflecting the organization’s commitment to addressing the whole child.
Why Early Intervention Matters
Sammy shared that many children who struggle with communication also exhibit behavioral challenges, such as biting or hitting, simply because they lack the words to express themselves. By improving language skills and communication, TheraPeds helps reduce these behaviors and sets children on a path toward success. “Early intervention is key,” Sammy emphasized. Too often, children don’t receive services until kindergarten. We want to reach them earlier, when it makes the biggest impact, for the children and their families.
Breaking Down Barriers
Access to therapy can be challenging for families—transportation issues, inconsistent school district support, and limited resources often stand in the way. TheraPeds tackles these barriers head-on by delivering services directly in early learning centers and daycares. This community-based model not only reduces costs for the families served but also ensures that children receive care where they learn and play.

Serving nearly 2,000 children annually, TheraPeds is making a profound difference in the lives of families across the region. Their partnerships with early learning centers allow therapists to work with multiple children in one location, maximizing efficiency and impact.
